SAP Business Intelligence and Analytics
Turn your SAP data into decisions with SAP Analytics Cloud, Datasphere, BW and embedded S/4HANA analytics.
Talk to a BI ExpertWhat Is SAP Business Intelligence?
SAP business intelligence is the set of SAP tools that turn ERP data into reports, dashboards, plans and insights, from real-time reporting inside S/4HANA to company-wide analytics in the cloud.
S/4HANA includes embedded analytics: KPI tiles, analytical Fiori apps and overview pages built on Core Data Services (CDS) views. SAP Analytics Cloud adds interactive dashboards, stories and planning. For data from many systems, SAP Datasphere and SAP BW provide the data warehouse, and SAP Business Data Cloud now brings these together, with integration to Databricks. The right mix depends on who needs the information, how current it must be, and where the data lives.

SAP BI and Analytics FAQ
What is the difference between S/4HANA embedded analytics and SAP Analytics Cloud?
Embedded analytics runs inside S/4HANA on live transactional data, through KPI tiles, Fiori analytical apps and CDS views, and is best for real-time operational reporting. SAP Analytics Cloud is a separate cloud service for interactive dashboards, stories and planning, and can combine S/4HANA data with other sources.
What is SAP Business Data Cloud?
SAP's unified data and analytics offering, launched in 2025. It brings together SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Datasphere and a cloud version of SAP BW, with ready-made business data products and integration with Databricks.
Do we still need SAP BW?
Many companies do, especially those with large BW investments. SAP BW continues as part of Business Data Cloud, while SAP Datasphere is SAP's strategic data warehouse for new work. We help you decide what to keep, move or retire.
Can tools like Azure Data Factory still extract data from SAP?
Yes, but not through the ODP framework's RFC modules: SAP Note 3255746 prohibits third-party tools from using them. OData-based extraction is the supported route, and we help plan the switch.
What are CDS views?
Core Data Services views are the data models built into S/4HANA. Designed as virtual data models, they give reporting and analytics a consistent, high-performance foundation without copying data into a separate warehouse.
Do you work with non-SAP analytics tools?
Yes. Besides SAP's own tools, we work with Amazon QuickSight, Azure Data Factory and Databricks, and connect them to SAP data in supported ways.
